Fairy FAQ
Hey welcome to the Fairy FAQ page where hopefully we can answer any questions you may have. If you don’t find the answer you are looking for you can get in touch here and we’ll get back to you in one to two business days.
How long will it take for my order to arrive?
All items are sent second class via The Royal Mail and will usually take anywhere between two to three days. If you upgrade to first class this is usually delivered within one to two days. We are not responsible for delays due to customs or delays due to circumstances out of my control. If outside of the UK please get in touch and I can give you a more accurate timescale of when to expect your magical post.
What if my item doesn’t arrive?
We understand that sometimes items may get lost in transit. If this situation arises we shall:
- Contact the delivery service provider.
- Keep you up to date on any information about this process.
- If the delivery service confirms the item has been lost than we will offer a refund. The time scale for this may vary depending on the postage standards and the provider.
Forced returns
If we receive an update from the postal service used that an attempted delivery had been made, we shall inform you of this along aside any information left by the courier to collect. If items are returned due to non-collection we do not offer refunds. We can repost your item, buyer pays for second delivery cost.
How long will it take for my custom order?
When you order this will be explained to you, but our turnaround is currently seven to fourteen days.
How do I take care of my fairy?
The fairies are all handmade using wool and are delicate and some items contain small parts, hence they are not suitable for young children. Keep away from pets also, as they will destroy them. I found this out the hard way! I’ve not tested the fairies outdoors, but I would advise that they stay indoors to be kept in their best condition and not destroyed by the natural elements.
Why do your fairies have no facial features?
Our fairies are inspired by the Waldorf education system and Rudolf Steiner believed that when his toys/dolls had no faces that it encouraged the imagination of the young child to help them cultivate their “inner picturing” abilities. I love this idea and I think this is great for us grownups too.
What wool is used?
We use a range of wool and always source from the UK where we can, if not we do make sure the welfare of the sheep are of high standards and that NO mulesing has played a part in their lives.
What is your business doing to help the environment?
Being environmentally friendly is something The Shetland Fairy is passionate about. We always try to reduce our packaging and we even did away with the lovely shiny packaging in favour of a recyclable tissue paper. We always try to source our materials from the UK and all our packaging is now recyclable. The wool is a natural animal-derived fibre. It’s also biodegradable to the point of being considered compostable.
What happens if I am not happy with my order?
Please get in contact with us here and we will do our best to solve any issue(s). You can read all about our refund policy here. The Refund Policy.
Are your crystals ethically sourced?
The answer is YES!! We get our crystals in from a reputable supplier that only use family owned mines and other sources who are cautious and careful when mining. Those who know how powerful crystal energies are and understand why it is vital to respect the people and grounds from where they came. The crystals are of good grade too.
Crystals are not registered as fair trade products but my supplier makes sure they are mined under safe ethical conditions and that the workers are in a secure environment and receive fair substantial wages. The supplier and ourselves would never knowingly purchase goods from a company that employed people in unfair or poor working conditions.
What do you mean when you say all crystals are cleansed and charged prior to delivery?
Crystals are said to absorb or redirect the negativity you’re working to release. Regularly cleansing and recharging the crystals is the only way to restore the crystal to its natural state. We cleanse and charge your crystals through sounds, visualisation and reiki and sometimes through smudging with sage. They are then packed beautifully ready to be sent to their new home.
What is meant by Reiki infused?
Reiki comes from the Japanese words “rei,” meaning universal, and “ki,” meaning life energy. Reiki is the belief that the universal energies flow through all living things and that everything around us has an energy field. It involves the transfer of universal energy from the practitioner’s palms to the Reiki infused items. Items can be infused with Reiki energy for healing, protection, love, and any other form of Reiki energy depending on the intention set by the Reiki practitioner. The Shetland Fairy sets their intentions ONLY for good, love, kindness and protection.
An Item I want is out of stock, when will it be available again?
For handmade items, probably never. All our handmade items are one of a kind, but you can contact us or head over to the Bespoke Gifts and order one just like it. Just let us know what it is that you are wanting and we will be more than happy to accommodate.
What is in the Fairy tale newsletter?
First of all don’t worry we do NOT spam anyone as we dislike that ourselves. We use our newsletter as a way of communicating to you. If we feel we have to let you know about something for example: Letting you know when we have sales on, when new fairies, dragons, unicorns etc. have been made. When new crystals arrive. We also treat you now and then with special offers and coupons and if you pop in your birthdate, the fairies will send you a treat on your big day. You can subscribe here and you are welcome to unsubscribe at any time. We don’t share your details with anybody.
Are you on social media?
